The Pioneer BDP-LX53 is a high-quality, slimline Blu-ray player which delivers a terrific performance and boasts bags of functionality.
With its HDMI connectivity the Pioneer BDP-LX53 can deliver the Blu-ray movie experience just as the director intended. Support for the 1080p video resolution means that movies are crisp, detailed and sharp, and with the 24 frames per second 'native film' format motion is smooth and controlled. The Pioneer BDPLX53 will also upscale DVDs to 1080p, so your existing collection will look fantastic too!
The Pioneer BDP-LX53 handles all the latest HD audio formats. DTS-HD Master Audio, Dolby True HD and Dolby Digital Plus can all be output unaltered or decoded on-board (for output as Linear PCM) via HDMI. Pioneer's advanced PQLS precision quartz system can also be used with HDMI to eliminate jitter and deliver a pure unfettered sound. The Pioneer BDP-LX53 also has an optical digital output, making the player suitable for use with a wide range of older AV amps and receivers. Finally, an RS232 connection means the Pioneer BDP-LX53 can be integrated into home automation systems.
Blu-ray BD Profile 2.0 (BD-Live) compliance on the Pioneer BDP-LX53 also lets you access extended online content and download it to a connected USB memory device. You can also view the interactive 'BONUSVIEW' features found on many Blu-ray discs such as picture-in-picture commentary.
Internet connection also lets you access RSS feeds through the Pioneer BDP-LX53 so you can have scrolling news on your television or watch YouTube videos. If you have an iPhone or iPod Touch you can download the free iControl app to control the Pioneer BDP-LX53 through a convenient touch screen interface.
