Pioneer VSX-421 AV Receiver
The essentials of HD home cinema made affordable: that’s the new Pioneer VSX-421 AV receiver. Turn your living room into a cinema with 5.1 HD surround sound. With speakers in the front, rear and middle and and a subwoofer connected, you’ll immerse yourself in a lively film experience. Phase Control eliminates lag between the 5 channels and significantly improves multi-channel sound. Or use it as the centre of your audio setup for gaming or home DJing. With 5 HD inputs including 3 x HDMI, you are equipped for regular use.
With HDMI version 1.4a, you can use the Pioneer VSX-421 AV receiver to watch 3D video from a Blu-ray disc. Other convenient features include an Audio Return Channel for TVs with DVD player or Tuner built-in, for example, and Standby pass-through. If you have a mobile device to play audio from, simply connect it to the receiver using the 3.5mm mini-jack on the front panel. Besides Dolby Pro Logic II, the receiver supports Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio so you can enjoy uncompressed, high-definition audio from Blu-ray discs as well.
The new Pioneer VSX-421 AV receiver includes KURO LINK which means that you are able to control the basic functions of compatible Pioneer Audio/Visual devices* (such as your Blu-ray player, amplifier or DVD recorder), with your KURO flat-screen TV remote control. KURO LINK is made possible via the single HDMI cable connection between your flat-screen TV and your other entertainment devices. *Various other brands of TV and home entertainment components also work with the KURO LINK function, see Pioneer website for complete list of compatible equipment.
The comprehensive range of features on the Pioneer VSX-421 AV receiver include `Front Stage Surround Advance` which allows you to simply place your speakers directly beside your TV screen, you can then experience a virtual surround sound environment so that you don’t have to worry about routing speaker cables around your room; your speakers can be placed up front. The `Loudness` mode boosts the bass and treble in a signal. It is useful for listening to music at low volumes. If others are sleeping or studying, trying to enjoy a program quietly shouldn't compromise such sound qualities as surround effects or dialogue clarity, `Midnight Listening Mode` is the solution. It adjusts subwoofer, rear and centre speaker levels, while enhancing delay and compressing dynamic range, for greater enjoyment of cinema-like sound at low volume. Finally the `Advanced Sound Retriever` function enhances compressed music formats, such as MP3, WMA or AAC and restores the music dynamics and harmonics to CD-sound quality. The benefit is that you can enjoy your digital music without loss of audio quality; the system automatically enhances and restores rich sound.
