Kef XQ20 Standmount Speakers
The Kef XQ20 speakers are the larger bookshelf speakers in the XQ series. Kef have retained the cabinet shape and overall design of the the original XQ's on the new series, not a bad move as the originals were some of the best looking speakers around...and still are in the form of the new XQ's. The Kef XQ20 speakers have a luxury feel to them in the finish, cabinet shape and materials used to make the cabinets, which is hard to beat. Available in three stunning finishes-piano black, khaya mahogany or birds-eye maple, the Kef XQ20 speakers will blend into the listening room with ease, regardless of decor.
When it comes to sound, we feel that the KEF XQ20 speakers are up there with the best. The bass response is superb. Low end frequencies are natural, not too boomy. One thing we instantly noticed about the KEF XQ20 speakers was how fast, sharp and crisp the sound was. This is partly to do with the newly designed curvature of the tweeter with the new 'tangering-wavefront' cover hat smoothens out the top end and helps disperse the HF, resulting in a crisp, detailed and crystal clear listening experience.
This new design allows the high frequencies to work in harmony with the bottom end The KEF XQ20 standmount speakers will perform just as well on movies as part of a home cinema system as they would do as part of a stereo system. This makes them a very flexible, versatile speaker.
