The Ingenium SE builds upon the original Ingenium design with significant improvements to the motor system, tonearm integration, vibration control, and upgrade potential. Developed with a new motor platform inspired by the advanced AVID Relveo, the SE model achieves greater rotational accuracy and smoother operation.
The dedicated motor enclosure and external power supply system minimise unwanted vibration and electrical noise, allowing the platter to maintain precise speed while preserving the subtle musical information contained within the record groove.
The result is a more natural, open and engaging sound with improved bass authority, enhanced dynamics and a greater sense of realism.
At the heart of the AVID Ingenium SE is AVID’s unique inverted true single-point bearing system. This precision bearing design uses a sapphire jewel rotating on a captive tungsten carbide ball, eliminating lateral movement, reducing friction and providing exceptional long-term reliability.
Unlike conventional bearing designs, the AVID approach minimises platter wobble and mechanical noise, allowing the cartridge to track the record groove with greater accuracy.
The tapered spindle design helps prevent unwanted resonance, while the maintenance-free self-lubricating bearing sleeve ensures lasting performance.
The Ingenium SE features AVID’s precision-machined vibration transfer clamp, designed to mechanically couple the record directly to the bearing system.
By securing the record firmly against the platter mat, unwanted energy is transferred away from the vinyl surface, reducing noise and allowing the stylus to retrieve more information from the groove.
The solid aluminium and stainless-steel construction also helps flatten minor record warps, improving cartridge tracking and reducing unwanted resonance.
The Ingenium SE uses a precision-machined high-density fibreboard (HDF) chassis platform, chosen for its excellent self-damping properties and mechanical stability.
Combined with AVID’s bespoke Sorbothane isolation system, the turntable is protected from external vibration and acoustic feedback, helping deliver a cleaner, quieter and more transparent listening experience.
The upgraded Ingenium SE tonearm has been engineered for enhanced rigidity, reduced resonance and improved cartridge compatibility.
Featuring adjustable anti-skate and refined tracking control, the tonearm allows cartridges to perform at their best, extracting more detail and subtlety from every recording.
For listeners seeking even greater performance, the AVID Ingenium SE can be upgraded with an optional precision-machined solid aluminium platter.
The increased mass and manufacturing accuracy improve rotational inertia, helping maintain exceptional speed consistency while reducing the effects of wow and flutter.

A dedicated transformer and control electronics provide smoother rotational energy, reducing electrical interference and lowering the overall noise floor.
For maximum performance, the optional DSP power supply derived from AVID’s flagship Relveo technology takes speed management even further, enabling enhanced precision and optional twin-belt drive operation.
