Technical Talk:

In comparison to its predecessor, the Nu-Vista Vinyl, the Vinyl 2 introduces discrete and fully balanced audio circuitry. The phono pre-amplification incorporates three gain stages powered by fully Class A discrete transistor circuitry. The EQ stage is equally uncompromising, adopting a completely passive split-passive design for accurate representation of the ideal EQ curve. Supporting standard RIAA, DECCA, and COLOMBIA curves, the audio signals undergo processing on separate boards for each channel, featuring a fully balanced discrete Class A Nuvistor stage. The clean PCB layout and purpose-driven design ensure minimal noise and distortion with low output impedance, while individual RCA and XLR outputs cater to simultaneous use.

The Advantage of Discrete Circuits:

In contrast to integrated circuits (ICs), discrete circuits consist of individual electronic components, providing a neutral, natural, dynamic, and vivid sound characteristic of the Musical Fidelity "sound." While ICs offer efficiency, the rediscovered passion for traditional discrete designs involves extended design processes but results in superior sound quality for the investment.

Fully Balanced:

The Nu-Vista Vinyl 2 adopts a fully balanced design principle, treating the hot and cold signals independently. This true balanced amplifier extracts musical information from +/- signals, removing potential noise along the transmission path. Unlike pseudo-balanced amplifiers, the fully balanced design excels at suppressing unwanted noise, errors, and interferences, offering the best signal-to-noise ratio.

Extreme Cartridge Loading Options:

Individual setting options for MM/MC and loading are provided for each single-ended RCA or balanced XLR input. The Nu-Vista Vinyl 2 accommodates a wide range of voltage amplification (40dB to 69dB), ensuring silent operation at high amplification levels. Complex implementation involving signal relays, JFET transistors, and fully balanced design allows seamless integration with various cartridges.

Power Supply:

The Nu-Vista Vinyl 2 showcases the evolution of Super Silent Power Transformers, featuring industrial-grade power sockets, EMI filters, and DC blockers to eliminate interference and transformer hum. The purpose-designed toroidal transformer minimizes electromagnetic radiation for delicate phono signals. Each discrete amp stage employs a DC servo for optimal DC mode, powered by symmetrical low-noise power supplies. The fully balanced Nuvistor PSUs undergo passive filtering and regulation. An optional upgrade, the Nu-Vista Uni PSU (anticipated in 2024), enhances noise performance by relocating the AC mains power supply to a separate matching box, achieving superior mains and output filtering for pristine audio circuitry.
