Introducing BerTTi: A 75-Watt Stereo Power Amplifier with Advanced Technology

BerTTi is a cutting-edge 75-watt stereo power amplifier that incorporates the latest dual-feed-forward error-correction topology. Unveiled at HIGH END, Munich in 2023, BerTTi is the successor to the renowned TToby amplifier and expands the range of ULTIMA topology amplifiers developed by John Franks, the owner and founder of Chord Electronics.

One of the standout features of BerTTi is Franks' advanced ULTIMA error-correction technology, which continuously monitors and corrects signals before they reach the output stage. This innovative technology ensures remarkable accuracy in sound reproduction.

BerTTi offers both balanced and unbalanced inputs, along with high-quality gold-plated loudspeaker outputs and a 10 A IEC power inlet. Additionally, it boasts two modified power supplies for enhanced performance, along with an auxiliary power rail for the front end, delivering extra voltage to drive the custom-made MOSFETs.

When combined with the critically acclaimed Hugo TT 2 DAC/preamp, the new ULTIMA-tech BerTTi unlocks unparalleled sonic performance for compact audio systems. Moreover, the inclusion of the Hugo M Scaler upscaler, which can upscale audio to 705.6 kHz (16 times CD's native resolution), positions this three-box system as a class-leading solution.

John Franks, the visionary behind BerTTi, commented, "BerTTi utilizes our proprietary ULTIMA technology, which meticulously monitors the electrical and thermal performance parameters of each MOSFET power device used in this advanced design. This additional circuitry enhances control in the power component's topology, reducing distortion modes compared to ordinary high-quality amplifier designs. BerTTi effortlessly drives a wide range of loudspeakers, from bookshelf types to the most demanding floorstanders."

BerTTi follows a lineage of highly advanced full-width ULTIMA-technology power amplifiers, including the flagship ULTIMA mono power amplifier (780 W), its successors ULTIMA 2 (750 W) and 3 (480 W) mono power amplifiers, as well as the ULTIMA 5 (350 W) and 6 (180 W) stereo power amplifiers. In May 2023, Chord Electronics introduced the new ULTIMA INTEGRATED to further expand this range.

Crafted with precision, BerTTi features sleek metalwork made from solid aircraft-grade aluminum. It is available in two elegant finishes: Jett Black and Argent Silver.
