Innuos NazaréNET Network Switch

The Innuos NazaréNET Network Switch is the flagship audiophile Ethernet switch from Innuos, designed to elevate the performance of high-end music streaming systems by addressing noise and timing errors at one of the most sensitive points in the digital audio chain. Rather than focusing solely on data transfer, it is engineered to preserve signal integrity so that streamed music arrives with greater clarity, stability, and musical coherence.

At its core, NazaréNET is built on a simple but critical principle: remove electrical and network noise before it reaches the streamer or server. This results in a more natural, open, and emotionally engaging presentation of music with improved timing precision, micro-detail retrieval, and overall realism.

Purpose-Built Audiophile Network Architecture

Unlike standard Ethernet switches designed primarily for bandwidth and reliability, the Innuos NazaréNET Network Switch is purpose-built for audio performance. Every element of its internal architecture has been engineered to reduce interference and protect the integrity of sensitive audio data.

Building on the acclaimed PhoenixNET, NazaréNET introduces a completely new internal architecture, upgraded power delivery system, and a mechanically optimised vibration-controlled chassis. With one SFP fibre port and four RJ45 Ethernet ports, it also enables flexible system integration while providing effective electrical isolation from routers and other network devices.

NAZARÉ-Grade Power Supply Design

The power supply in the NazaréNET is designed to reference-grade standards, using custom-wound toroidal transformers and bespoke Lundahl inductors for ultra-stable, low-noise power delivery under dynamic musical conditions.

Further refinement comes from GaN-ARC8 rectification technology developed with Dr. Sean Jacobs, using gallium nitride-based active rectification and large energy storage to ensure fast and stable current delivery. Regulation is handled by multiple DC4 modules, providing ultra-low noise performance across all subsystems, supported by premium internal cabling for maximum signal integrity.

WaveNET Audiophile Network Board

At the core of the system is the WaveNET board, purpose-built for high-end audio rather than adapted from conventional networking hardware. Its entire design focuses on reducing electrical noise and preserving signal integrity throughout all stages of data handling.

Carefully selected components and optimised circuit layouts minimise interference between digital and analogue domains. This ensures network traffic is processed with minimal impact on the audio signal, revealing greater micro-detail, spatial accuracy, and musical realism.

The result is a significantly lower noise floor, directly translating into improved clarity, imaging, and tonal naturalness.

Four Independently Isolated Power Rails

A defining feature of the NazaréNET is its use of four independently regulated and electrically isolated power rails. Each rail is dedicated to a specific subsystem to prevent noise contamination between sensitive circuits.

The OCXO clock is powered by a dedicated isolated rail to ensure maximum timing stability and ultra-low jitter performance. The analogue PHY transceivers are also separately powered, as they are highly sensitive to electrical noise and directly influence signal transmission quality.

The digital Ethernet controller is split across isolated rails to separate processing activity from timing and analogue systems. This careful distribution ensures switching noise is kept away from the most sensitive parts of the design, resulting in improved timing accuracy and a lower overall noise floor.

OCXO Clock & Vibration-Controlled Chassis

Timing precision is critical in digital audio, and the NazaréNET uses a high-precision OCXO clock to deliver a stable, low-jitter reference signal. This clock is fully isolated from other internal circuitry to maintain consistent performance under all network conditions.

Mechanical vibration is addressed through a heavily engineered chassis design. The 10mm CNC-machined aluminium enclosure reduces resonance, while SmartStack damping technology developed with TONEO further isolates sensitive components. IsoAcoustic feet complete the system by decoupling the unit from external vibration sources.

SFP Fibre Isolation Technology

The inclusion of an SFP fibre port allows the Innuos NazaréNET Network Switch to introduce optical isolation into the signal chain. By converting electrical signals into light, galvanic connections are broken, significantly reducing noise and interference.

Using a reference-grade Finisar SFP module with single-mode fibre, the system ensures highly controlled light transmission along a single path, reducing dispersion and maintaining signal stability even in short-run high-end audio applications.

This creates a cleaner and more isolated network environment, especially beneficial in complex or high-noise systems.

Ultra-Low Noise Operation with Sense Integration

Once configured, the NazaréNET operates in an extremely low-noise state. Custom firmware initialises the system at startup before shutting down the onboard microprocessor during playback, eliminating unnecessary electrical activity.

This ensures the switch remains sonically transparent during listening, introducing no audible artefacts into the audio chain. The Innuos Sense app provides further optimisation options, including per-port speed control and future functionality to disable individual ports for additional noise reduction.

Innuos NazaréNET Network Switch – Summary

The Innuos NazaréNET Network Switch represents a reference-level approach to audiophile networking. It is not simply a network device, but a fully engineered audio component designed to improve every stage of digital music transmission.

Through advanced power supply design, extreme noise reduction, fibre isolation, precision clocking, and mechanical damping, NazaréNET delivers a more transparent, natural, and emotionally engaging listening experience for high-end streaming systems.
