The D-03R is a new standard player proposed by Luxman for the coming era, incorporating advanced functions and technology and re-building various elements of the previous model D-03X to fulfill the desires of insatiable audio lovers.

The D-03R carefully converts the music information stored on the disc into analog form using the latest high-resolution digital processing system and high-quality buffer circuit that far exceeds the basic 44.1kHz/16bit format, allowing you to play the vast CD libraries that many audio files collect with higher sound quality than ever before. The DAC chip that forms the core of the circuit is equipped with ROHM's BD34352EKV in a dual configuration (mono mode). It also has a filter switching function that allows you to select your preferred sound quality. As an absolute standard for signal transmission, in addition to the low-jitter function optimized for each input, a high-precision ultra-low phase noise clock module is also adopted. Furthermore, it is possible to connect other digital devices and use the D-03R as a D/A converter. When connected to the network transport NT-07, Windows PC, Mac, etc. via USB input, it supports up to PCM 384kHz/32bit and DSD 22.5MHz, and when connected to older generation CD players, TVs, etc. via S/PDIF (COAX/OPT) input, it supports up to PCM 192kHz/24bit digital signals. In addition, all inputs support full decoding of MQA (MQA-CD/MQA file) format. A bypass function has also been newly added for when MQA is not being played.

The D-03R is equipped with a dedicated single laser drive specialized for CD playback. It adopts a simple mechanism that boasts excellent operating response and high reliability. In addition, the top plate that covers the top of the mechanism and the newly adopted 3.2mm thick steel mount base are attached to a sturdy box structure that rigidly blocks external vibrations. It enables accurate and stable reading of digital signals. The analog circuit is thoroughly tuned by making full use of unique custom parts, round pattern wiring that takes into consideration the smooth flow of signals, and custom-made OFC wiring, etc., to input the differential output of two D/A converters operated in mono mode. The impedance is reduced to drive the components connected to the next stage powerfully by inputting it to a fully balanced I/V conversion and high-quality buffer circuit. The three important elements that make up a CD player - this high-rigidity drive mechanism, advanced digital processing block, and carefully designed analog output circuit - are positioned in optimal positions thanks to an asymmetrical left-side mechanism layout that pursues ideal signal flow, vibration path, and weight balance. This trinity combines to achieve the D-03R's high sound quality and fascinating musicality.

The analog output is equipped with two systems: an 18mm pitch gold-plated RCA terminal and a high-quality Neutrik XLR terminal. The digital system is equipped with a USB input that supports PCM/DSD signals, as well as one coaxial and one optical S/PDIF input/output terminal that also supports the input of DoP format DSD signals. The system can be expanded by connecting to a variety of audio devices, including the network transport NT-07.

The front panel, with its elegant blasted white finish that stands out in any listening room, features a new high-definition large OLED display and a smart, bold design with square edges and an orderly layout of operation buttons. The display, which shows various device statuses, also features a zoom display mode that improves visibility from a distance, four-stage dimmer switching, and an automatic dimming function.

The D-03R is equipped with a high-inertia power supply that consists of a large power transformer, independent regulators for the mechanical, digital, and analog circuits, and large-capacity block capacitors (the capacity of the DAC circuit has been doubled from 3,300μF to 6,600μF) to stably supply high-quality power energy to each circuit. The housing uses a composite structure of a loopless and shielded chassis that provides measures against magnetic fields, earth impedance, and digital noise.
