The Monitor Audio Silver 50 8G brings the advanced technology of Monitor Audio's latest Silver Series 8G range to a compact bookshelf speaker design. Combining a 6-inch C-CAM RST III bass/mid driver with a new 25mm C-CAM Gold Dome tweeter, the Silver 50 8G delivers detailed, controlled and engaging high-fidelity sound without demanding a large amount of room space.
Designed for music lovers who want serious performance from a compact speaker, the Silver 50 8G offers impressive bass extension, a transparent midrange and precise high frequencies. Its sophisticated driver technology, carefully engineered crossover and rigid cabinet construction work together to create a natural, coherent and spacious presentation.
The new 25mm C-CAM Gold Dome tweeter has been comprehensively optimised for the Silver Series 8G. Its vented design and internal enclosure geometry help reduce distortion and improve airflow, while an updated compression ring and new ring neodymium magnet improve magnetic efficiency. The latest UD Waveguide II provides more controlled dispersion for a stable and consistent performance across different listening levels.
At the heart of the Monitor Audio Silver 50 8G is a 6-inch C-CAM RST III bass/mid driver, engineered to deliver greater transparency and control through the critical vocal range. The updated cone geometry increases rigidity while reducing unwanted colouration, allowing more detail to emerge from recordings.
A newly developed progressive spider, upgraded voice coil and improved venting system enhance linearity, airflow and power handling. The result is impressive bass depth and definition combined with clean, articulate vocals and instruments.
Despite its compact enclosure, the Silver 50 8G is designed to deliver surprisingly deep and controlled bass. Its new Silent Flow Port Technology increases the port diameter and uses an innovative flare geometry to reduce turbulence and unwanted port noise.
Inspired by the airflow characteristics of an owl's wing feathers, the port design guides air smoothly through the enclosure to minimise chuffing. This results in cleaner, deeper bass with improved definition.
The Monitor Audio Silver 50 8G Speakers feature an upgraded crossover network using carefully selected capacitors, inductors and resistors. The crossover precisely divides the audio signal between the bass/mid driver and tweeter while minimising electrical losses and unwanted colouration.
Improved driver integration contributes to a more coherent and natural presentation, helping the Silver 50 8G create a seamless soundstage with excellent clarity across the frequency range.
A rigid, extensively braced cabinet helps the Silver 50 8G Speakers maintain their sonic accuracy. Internal bracing and damping reduce panel vibration and unwanted cabinet resonance, improving transient response and allowing the drivers to perform more cleanly.
Monitor Audio's Through-Bolt Technology secures the C-CAM drive unit directly to the rear of the cabinet, improving structural rigidity while helping to minimise unwanted chassis resonances. This contributes to a cleaner, more precise and controlled presentation.
