At the heart of the Silver 500 8G is a 3-way driver configuration featuring twin 8-inch C-CAM bass drivers, a dedicated 3-inch C-CAM midrange driver and a 25mm C-CAM Gold Dome tweeter. The result is a large-scale presentation with excellent control, wide dynamic range and a coherent soundstage across the entire frequency range.
The Silver 500 8G's twin 8-inch C-CAM bass drivers provide the foundation for its powerful low-frequency performance. Featuring updated RST III cone geometry, the drivers have been engineered for greater rigidity and reduced distortion, helping to deliver tighter bass, improved transparency and greater control.
A dedicated 3-inch C-CAM midrange driver handles critical vocal and instrumental frequencies independently from the bass drivers, contributing to the natural, detailed and highly transparent midrange performance for which the Silver Series is renowned. At the top of the frequency range is Monitor Audio's latest 25mm C-CAM Gold Dome tweeter.
The new high-frequency C-CAM Gold Dome tweeter is designed to deliver clean, detailed and extended high frequencies while maintaining excellent dispersion. Its vented design, updated internal enclosure geometry, revised compression ring and new ring neodymium magnet improve airflow, reduce distortion and increase magnetic efficiency.
Monitor Audio's latest UD Waveguide II technology helps provide a more stable and consistent performance across different listening levels. Together, the C-CAM Gold Dome tweeter and UD Waveguide II contribute to the open, spacious presentation of these premium floorstanding speakers.
Monitor Audio's RST III driver technology has been comprehensively developed for the Silver Series 8G. The updated cone geometry increases rigidity while helping to minimise unwanted colouration, allowing the drivers to respond more accurately to the incoming signal.
A newly developed progressive spider, upgraded voice coil and improved venting system further enhance linearity, airflow and power handling. For the listener, this translates into greater transparency and control, particularly through the important vocal and midrange frequencies.
The Monitor Audio Silver 500 8G incorporates new Silent Flow Port Technology to improve bass performance and reduce unwanted turbulence. The increased port diameter allows air to move more efficiently, while the innovative flare geometry has been inspired by the interlocking wing feathers of an owl.
This carefully developed profile helps smooth airflow through the port and significantly reduces chuffing and port noise. The result is cleaner, deeper and more controlled bass, allowing the twin 8-inch bass drivers to perform with greater clarity at higher listening levels.
The Silver 500 8G crossover has been redesigned using high-quality components to provide more precise signal division between the three driver sections. Carefully selected capacitors, inductors and resistors help improve electrical performance while reducing losses and unwanted colouration.
The upgraded crossover ensures better integration between the bass, midrange and treble drivers, helping the Silver 500 8G produce a coherent, natural soundstage with smooth integration across the frequency spectrum.
The Silver 500 8G is built around a rigid, extensively braced cabinet designed to minimise unwanted resonance and panel vibration. Monitor Audio Through-Bolt Technology securely braces the C-CAM drive units to the rear of the cabinet, helping maintain structural rigidity while reducing unwanted chassis resonances.
Combined with extensive internal bracing and damping, the cabinet construction allows more of the amplifier's energy to be converted into accurate acoustic output rather than unwanted cabinet vibration.
The Silver 500 8G features redesigned outriggers inspired by Monitor Audio's flagship Platinum Series 3G. The wider, more stable foundation improves cabinet stability while maintaining the clean appearance of the speaker.
A discreet top-adjustment mechanism is concealed beneath a spun metal disc, allowing precise levelling of the speaker without compromising its contemporary design.
As the largest floorstanding model in the Silver Series 8G range, the Monitor Audio Silver 500 8G Speakers are designed for listeners who want a substantial, dynamic and highly detailed loudspeaker capable of delivering genuine full-range performance.
