We have the Project Xtension 10 Turntable on permanent demonstration in our Hull store.

The Project Xtension 10 turntable is a 3 speed, belt driven deck utilising a 10 inch version of the project evolution tonearm. This carbon-fibre tonearm is an oversized dual gimbal design that we find is easier to manoeuvre than the uni-pivot design employed on the Signature range

The huge platter is a thing of beauty and practicality. The platter is cast from a Sorbothane damped alloy that has layers of vinyl bonded on to its upper surface. This vinyl to vinyl contact pulls out vibration from the mass of your record and channels it away, leading to a reduction in noise. The platters sits on an inverted ceramic bearing that is in turn mounted and a mass loaded MDF and Aluminium “ metal sand” mix plinth. This mass loading design is used in many high end turntables to reduce resonance, but Pro-ject refine this concept by isolating this plinth on 4 magnetic feet which in effectively causes it to float.

Speed can be set and adjusted electronically on the Project xtension 10, and as well as 45, 33 and 78, the speed can be manually altered for fine adjustment

The Project Xtension 10 also comes supplied with an Acrylic dust cover and heavy weight record puck. The Xtension 10 is supplied without a cartridge, but to offer a saving it can be bundled with one of two Ortofon cartridges, the Cadenza Red or the range topping Cadenza Black
