A centre speaker is arguably the most important component in any home cinema system, responsible for anchoring dialogue and ensuring on-screen action feels realistic and engaging. The Wharfedale Heritage Centre Speaker excels in this role, delivering voices with clarity, depth and natural tone. Its wide dispersion characteristics ensure that dialogue remains consistent across different seating positions, making it ideal for shared viewing environments.
Advanced Three-Way Driver System
At the core of the Wharfedale Heritage Centre Speaker is a refined three-way driver configuration designed for accuracy and balance. The dedicated 50mm soft dome midrange driver handles critical vocal frequencies with precision, ensuring speech is always clear and expressive. This is complemented by a 25mm fabric dome tweeter, delivering smooth, detailed high frequencies without harshness.
Dual Kevlar Bass Drivers
Supporting the midrange and treble units are dual 165mm Kevlar bass drivers, providing a rich and controlled low-end response. These drivers integrate seamlessly with the rest of the system, creating a cohesive and natural sound signature with smooth transitions across the frequency range.
Seamless Heritage Series Integration
The Wharfedale Heritage Centre Speaker has been acoustically voiced to match speakers such as the Linton, Super Linton, Denton and Dovedale. This ensures tonal consistency across the front soundstage, allowing sound to move fluidly between channels without any noticeable change in character.
Premium Cabinet Engineering
The cabinet features a multi-layer construction combining high-density particle board and MDF, bonded with a specialised damping adhesive to minimise unwanted resonance. This design ensures cabinet vibrations remain well below the level of the audio signal for clean and accurate sound reproduction.
Precision Internal Bracing
Internally, precision bracing and carefully selected damping materials reduce coloration and allow the drivers to perform at their best. Rear-firing bass reflex ports further enhance low-frequency performance, delivering a full-bodied and controlled sound.
Classic Finish, Timeless Design
The Wharfedale Heritage Centre Speaker is finished in real-wood veneers including walnut, mahogany and black oak. Each cabinet is hand-polished and lacquered to a satin finish, ensuring a perfect visual match with the rest of the Heritage Series.
