It represents the culmination of decades of analogue engineering refinement, standing as the spiritual successor to the B-1000f introduced for the 80th anniversary. This model is designed to showcase the highest level of Luxman performance, combining power, refinement, and absolute signal purity in a reference-grade monoblock design.
At its core, the B-100 Centennial is built around Luxman’s latest LIFES 1.1 amplification engine, a next-generation feedback architecture designed to further reduce distortion and enhance musical transparency. First introduced in the M-10X, this evolved implementation delivers improved linearity, greater resolution, and a more natural tonal balance, allowing the amplifier to reproduce music with exceptional realism and control.
The Luxman B-100 Centennial Amplifier benefits from the most advanced iteration of Luxman’s proprietary LIFES feedback system. LIFES 1.1 has been further refined to improve signal integrity and reduce distortion across the full frequency spectrum, resulting in a more effortless and transparent presentation.
This advanced circuit design enhances microdynamic expression and spatial depth, allowing subtle musical details to emerge with greater clarity. The result is a presentation that feels more open and natural, with improved instrument separation and a stable, well-defined soundstage even under complex musical passages.
The output stage of the B-100 Centennial uses a sophisticated 4×4 configuration with quadruple-paralleled, triple-stage Darlington push-pull modules per channel. This architecture is designed to maximise current delivery while maintaining strict linearity under all operating conditions.
In practical terms, the amplifier delivers 25 watts of pure Class A power into 8 ohms, ensuring exceptional low-level resolution and tonal purity. It then scales to 125 watts of continuous output into 8 ohms, providing strong dynamic headroom for demanding musical passages. At peak levels, it is capable of delivering up to 1,000 watts into 1 ohm, ensuring complete control over even the most challenging loudspeaker loads.
This combination of Class A refinement and high-current capability results in a sound that is both powerful and highly controlled, with excellent transient response and authority.
The Luxman B-100 Centennial Amplifier is supported by an extremely robust power supply designed to maintain stability under all conditions. At its centre is a custom 1,250VA EI-core transformer, engineered with flat copper windings to reduce losses and improve energy transfer efficiency.
This is complemented by a total of 160,000μF of filter capacitance, implemented through sixteen high-capacity 10,000μF capacitors. This large energy reservoir allows the amplifier to deliver instantaneous current when required, ensuring dynamic musical passages are reproduced with impact and control.
The result is a power delivery system that remains stable and composed even under heavy load, supporting deep bass reproduction and maintaining clarity during complex orchestral or high-energy passages.
Every aspect of the B-100 Centennial’s internal design has been optimised for signal purity. The amplifier uses 7N Class D.U.C.C. internal wiring, chosen for its exceptional conductivity and low signal resistance. This ensures that even the smallest musical details are preserved without degradation.
The signal path is further refined through gold-plated, peel-coat circuit traces, which reduce dielectric effects and help maintain absolute clarity throughout the amplification process. Combined with a damping factor exceeding 1,000, the amplifier achieves precise loudspeaker control with tight, accurate bass response and minimal coloration.
The internal layout has also been carefully engineered to minimise impedance and interference, ensuring that the signal remains as pure and unaltered as possible from input to output.
Mechanically, the Luxman B-100 Centennial Amplifier is constructed to the highest standards of vibration control and electrical isolation. Its loop-less chassis design reduces grounding interference and helps maintain a clean, noise-free signal environment.
The amplifier is built on a heavy-duty steel base plate and supported by large cast iron feet, which provide excellent mechanical stability and reduce the transmission of external vibrations. High-rigidity RCA terminals ensure a secure and stable connection, preserving signal integrity at the input stage.
Additional system integration is provided via trigger input and output connections, allowing the amplifier to be easily incorporated into high-end multi-component systems without compromising performance.
The design of the B-100 Centennial reflects Luxman’s signature blend of engineering precision and aesthetic refinement. The chassis features a sculpted 3D form with a distinctive slanted front panel, consistent with other Centennial models such as the D-100 and C-10X.
Large illuminated analogue meters dominate the front panel, providing both visual impact and functional feedback, while subtle status LEDs add clarity during operation. The amplifier is finished with a dedicated “CENTENNIAL” chrome badge, marking its significance as a milestone product in Luxman’s 100-year history.
