The Michell Orbe SE Turntable is engineered with precision and functionality, featuring low-contact area feet made of solid aluminum. The design of these feet minimizes the contact area with the supporting surface, effectively reducing the transfer of vibrations from supporting furniture into the turntable. This meticulous engineering ensures a stable and undisturbed platform for the turntable's operation.

A three-point spring suspension system is employed, with three suspension towers fixed to the secondary acrylic base. This configuration not only holds the suspension springs in place but also provides height adjustment for the sub-chassis. The weighted pendulum-style sub-chassis, suspended on three springs, acts as a rigid and dense platform for mounting the main bearing, platter, and tonearm assembly. This design ensures no movement between these critical components and serves as a resonance and vibration sink, drawing away unwanted vibrations from sensitive elements of the turntable.

The Michell Orbe SE Turntable adopts an inverted oil-circulating main bearing, deviating from traditional designs by placing the point of rotation at the top of the assembly. This unique orientation allows for full lubrication of the bearing while the platter is in motion, minimizing the potential for noise or vibration caused by platter rotation. The extra-heavy impedance-matched platter, chosen for its vibration-dampening characteristics and sonic similarity to vinyl, contributes to the turntable's neutral sound characteristic and excellent speed stability.

With a free-standing motor unit that remains completely separate from the turntable, the Michell Orbe SE ensures minimal contact and interference. The motor is connected to the turntable only through the drive belt, preventing any noise or vibrations generated during motor operation from reaching the sensitive parts of the turntable. The Orbe controller power supply, featuring a large toroidal transformer, Never Connected™ circuitry, and servo motor control technology, ensures rock-solid speed stability. The Orbe record clamp, with its screw-down design, allows for increased force on the vinyl, aiding in flattening warped records and eliminating resonance in the vinyl disk.
