Project Turntable Experience At Fanthorpes HiFi Saturday 15th September
We'd like to invite you to store Saturday 15th September for the rare opportunity to hear a selection of Project turntables in a back to back demonstration format.
This event has been designed with all budgets and systems in mind. So, if you are just starting out on your vinyl journey or are an existing turntable enthusiast, it doesn't matter, we're sure you will benefit from attending.
How Will It Work?
The event will focus on four keys areas of turntable design, the arm, cartridge, plinth and platter to explore how differences and improvements in these areas can change and improve the sonic characteristics.
As a reference point, we will start with a Debut Carbon, analysing the differences within the Xpression, Xperience and the Xtension turntable series, plus a selection of Ortofon Cartridges, before finishing with the demonstration Limited Edition Classic VPO turntable.
The demonstrations will be hosted by Kieran Pickaver of Henley Audio, he will be on hand to answer any questions and to explain the differences between each turntable. This is a great chance to hear and learn what design and component changes can bring to the sound of a turntable.
All the turntables will use the same ancillary equipment - we will have on demo the Project Tube Box DS2 Phono Stage, connected into Luxman Amplification, which will be running a pair of Klipsch Forte Speakers.
RSVP
Demonstrations will be held on Saturday the 15th of September at 11:00am and 2:00pm, we only have limited spaces available, so we suggest that you contact us to ensure there is available space.
For more information about this event please call us on 01482 223096 or email shop@fanthorpes.co.uk

Ortofon’s MC X Series represents a new wave in high-fidelity vinyl playback. Building on the solid foundation of the Quintet range, this series introduces a more refined, high-performance line of moving coil (MC) cartridges—all designed and assembled in Denmark.
While the models share core design elements—such as a honeycomb stainless-steel body, silver-plated pure copper coils, and a refined magnet system—the key differences lie in stylus shape, cantilever material, and sonic character. These factors have a profound effect on how the cartridge interacts with the grooves and conveys the music.
Let’s break down the differences between the MC X10, X20, X30, and X40 to help you choose the model that suits your setup and listening preferences.
