DIRAC now available for New Arcam Receivers!

The new line up of Arcam AV products which features three AV Receivers (the AVR10, AVR20 and AVR30) and an AV Processor (the AV40), are now ready for DIRAC.

What Is DIRAC?

Dirac is a type of room correction software, It corrects not only the frequency response but also the impulse response, a factor critical for accurate staging, clarity and bass reproduction. the overall aim on a Dirac install is to reach the situation where all speakers are working together to create a `sound field` around you, correctly recreating the movies sound effects while not making themselves noticeable.

Our fully trained installer can use DIRAC to allow this using a high quality specially calibrated microphone and the intelligent room analysis software linked to the new range of Arcam receivers. Full frequency sounds are passed into each speaker one at a time, in up to 9 positions in your room which are then picked up by the microphone and loaded into the software.

This creates accurate waveform graphs of your own rooms actual effect on your systems sound output. By using the DIRAC software, we can adjust these waveforms to more closely match the original movies own soundtrack.

The overall effect of this provides a clean, detailed sound where no one speaker is directly noticeable, and your attention is focused only on the movie.

Arcam Range Breakdown.

The AVR10 with 12 channels of class AB power, Dirac calibration, Dolby Atmos, DTS:X 7.1.4 and IMAX Enhanced, further features include 4K (UHD) HDMI2.0b with HDCP2.2 ability, Bluetooth connectivity and seven HDMI inputs.

The AVR20 ups the numbers of channels of AB amplification to 16, Dolby Atmos, DTS:X 9.1.6 decoding and Dirac Live for room correction.

The AVR30 employs Class G amplification, enabling 16 channels Dolby, DTS, and IMAX Enhanced.

All of the new AVR models enable GoogleCast streaming, work with ARCAM’s free MusicLife and Control apps and feature DACs.

The new 16-channel AV40 AV processor includes Dolby Atmos, DTS:X, IMAX Enhanced and Dirac Live.

The rear includes 16 XLR outputs, 16 single-ended RCA outputs, seven HDMI inputs, three HDMI outputs, 4K (UHD) HDMI 2.0b with HDCP 2.2 and Ethernet, RS232 and IR control. It is also Bluetooth-equipped, integrates an FM/DAB/DAB+ tuner and employs the ESS 9026PRO DAC.
